WhimsyLotus is a small, family-run shop in O'Fallon, Missouri, operated by Bouas Ventures LLC (“we,” “us”), that makes personalized laser-cut and engraved gifts. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit whimsylotus.com or buy from us, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions? Send us a message.

Information you give us

  • Orders: your name, email, phone number, shipping and billing address, what you bought, and the personalization details you enter (names, dates, messages).

  • Proofs and messages: anything you send us through our contact form or email, including photos of a damaged item.

  • Account: if you create a customer account, your login email, saved addresses and order history.

  • Email sign-up: your email address if you join our list through the pop-up, the footer form or the checkbox at checkout.

  • Reviews: the rating, text and name you choose to share.

Payment information

Payments are handled by Squarespace Payments (powered by Stripe) and the payment method you choose, such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna or Link. We never see or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically

When you use the site, our website platform and partners automatically collect things like your IP address, browser and device type, pages you visit, the site that referred you, and similar usage data, using cookies and similar technologies.

How we use your information

  • To make, ship and support your order, including sending your proof and order updates.

  • To answer your messages and handle returns or problems.

  • To send service emails, such as a reminder if you leave items in your cart or a request to review your purchase.

  • To send news and offers, only if you signed up. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.

  • To prevent fraud and spam, keep the site secure, and understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

  • To show our ads to people who visited our site, using the Meta Pixel (see below).

  • To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the companies that help us run the shop, and only what they need:

  • Squarespace, which hosts our website, store, customer accounts and email list.

  • Payment processors (Squarespace Payments/Stripe, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, Link) to process your payment and prevent fraud.

  • USPS, to deliver your order.

  • Google, for reCAPTCHA spam protection on our forms and for the web fonts the site uses.

  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram), through the Meta Pixel described below.

  • Authorities, if required by law, or a buyer of the business if WhimsyLotus is ever sold.

We do not sell your personal information for money.

Cookies and the Meta Pixel

Our site uses cookies that the website needs to work (for example, to keep items in your cart) and cookies that help us measure visits. We also use the Meta Pixel, a tool from Meta Platforms, Inc. It lets Meta receive information such as your IP address, the pages you view, and browser and cookie identifiers, so we can measure our ads and show ads to people who have visited our site. Meta uses this information under its own privacy policy.

You can limit this by blocking or clearing cookies in your browser settings, adjusting your ad settings at facebook.com/adpreferences, or opting out of interest-based ads at optout.aboutads.info. Our site does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

How long we keep information

We keep order records for as long as needed to fulfill orders, handle returns and meet tax and legal requirements. We keep your email on our list until you unsubscribe, and your account until you ask us to delete it.

Security

Our site uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and payments are processed by PCI-compliant providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email. You'll still get emails about your orders.

  • Ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information we have about you by emailing bouasventuresllc@gmail.com or sending us a message. We'll respond within a reasonable time, and may need to keep some records the law requires.

  • Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. Contact us and we'll help.

Children

Our site is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Personalization details you give us about a child (such as a name for an ornament) are used only to make your order.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
